Blurb (source: goodreads.com): Starting over sucks.
When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don’t kill him first, that is.
At first I was sceptical when I started this book because … aliens? Seriously? In my mind the guy on the cover transformed himself into some green little something … and that is … oO
But anyway, I started reading this book because I liked the writing style in the other series the author wrote (Covenant ♥) and I couldn’t get enough.
Falling in love with this book came slowly. At the beginning I wasn’t really convinced that I could like the characters, especially Daemon who was an asshole oO I wanted to kick him – hard!
But Kat was cool from the very beginning. AND she writes a book blog. Made her really sympathetic in my opinion.
The book was really good and I loved it after Daemon told Kat the truth about him (and the „others“ as well^^)
Another positive thing: I laughed a lot. Loud, lol. The dialogues between Kat and Daemon were great most of the time.
The only thing that’s bothering me is the ending. I didn’t understand some parts and what this is about for the relationship of Daemon and Kat. AND everything happened a little too fast.
But I hope the second book will be more clear at this point. I’m really looking forward to it.
4 of 5 stars!
